Volunteering
The RSPCA relies entirely donations, legacies and fundraising to continue their valuable work!

Could YOU be a Volunteer?
Are you a man or woman with a van??   We desperately need help delivering and collecting donation bags in local areas to gather items to sell in our Charity Shops.    We can pay mileage to cover petrol and wear and tear on your vehicles.     If you can help, even just on a temporary basis to help stock our new Felixstowe Charity Shop, please call Kate on 01449  614057 - thank you.

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF WAYS YOU COULD HELP
At our Animal Centre, Clinic, Shop or one of our many Fundraising Events

Click here to see some of our current guests Even if you can only spare two hours a year you could help us!
If you have a clean driving license, we need someone to drive our RSPCA van to the charity shop in Ipswich once a week, to deliver goods, remove rubbish, and occasionally collect items.

Margaret has been volunteering at the Centre for over a year now and comes in twice a week or more if we are short staffed. Margaret has a soft spot for some of our smaller creatures and can regularly be sound in our small animal room.

Sue is on of our new volunteers and has only just started helping at the centre, though she has been one of our valued house to house collectors for some time. Sue is throughly enjoying her new role and getting more involved with the daily care of the animals.

Collecting
In 2006 Pat Monk our House to House Co-ordinator and her team of dedicated collectors raised the amazing sum of £14,404.30! Pat and her team are always looking for more collectors, however little time they can give.
Love gardening? Have spare time?
There are lots of opportunities to help us improve and develop the grounds at our Animal Centre.
Animal Visiting
Our guests need people, dogs need walking, cats need cuddling. You could help re-socialise nervous or terrified cats and dogs, or get a puppy or kitten used to people. We are looking for people to walk dogs during the week as well as at weekends, any time you can spare would be appreciated by staff and more importantly our guests.
Events
Perhaps you could organise an event, a coffee morning, a dance or perhaps a sponsored silence, walk, haircut, the list is endless ! From the very simple to the extravagant, every penny raised is most gratefully received! -
AND IT'S GREAT FUN TOO!!
The RSPCA CHARITY SHOP
A morning or afternoon helping in one of our shops would be a fantastic help.   There are so many different tasks that need doing from sorting to steaming, till work to helping customers

Here at the Centre we like to get to know all our volunteers and are always looking at ways in which we can get to know everyone. This invloves organising social events.

  • Last event was a trip to the Romeo and Juliet play in Rendlesham Forest. Great night, luckly it did not rain though it was a bit chilly. We took a picnic with us for double the amount of people that went..what little piggies we were!
  • Next event is a 6 mile bike ride in Rendlesham Forest on 9th September at 5.30pm.
