VOLUNTEERING
RSPCA Suffolk East & Ipswich Branch relies entirely on donations, legacies and fundraising to continue their vital work!

Miss Rebecca Fox is our Volunteer Co-ordinator for the Branch, please contact her on 01473 623280 or martlesham.rspca@btconnect.com and she will be able to help you initially on how best we can match how you would like to help us with what needs doing!

Could YOU be a Volunteer?

Areas where help is currently desperately needed - we are in real need of help at our Ipswich Charity Shop - please call Julia, the Manager, on on 01473 253420.

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF WAYS YOU COULD HELP US....
At our Animal Centre, Clinic, Shops or at one of our many Fundraising Events

Click here to see some of our current guests even if you can only spare two hours a week or month you could help us!
If you have a clean driving licence, we need someone to drive our RSPCA van to the charity shop in Ipswich once a week, to deliver goods, remove rubbish, and occasionally collect items.

House to House Collecting
In 2009 Pat Monk, our House to House Co-ordinator, and her team of wonderful collectors raised the amazing sum of £14,967.13!    Although this is a fantastic sum, with more collectors we could do even better.    Pat and her team are always looking for more collectors, as large areas of our Branch do not have any collectors.   Pat can be contacted on 01394 284 605

Margaret has been volunteering at the Centre for over a year now and comes in twice a week or more if we are short staffed. Margaret has a soft spot for some of our smaller creatures and can regularly be sound in our small animal room.

Sue is on of our new volunteers and has only just started helping at the centre, though she has been one of our valued house to house collectors for some time. Sue is throughly enjoying her new role and getting more involved with the daily care of the animals.

Love gardening? Have spare time?
There are lots of opportunities to help us improve and develop the grounds at our Animal Centre.
Animal Help

Due to a high volume of people interested in the volunteering opportunities at our centre working with the animals, we are currently unable to accept any new applications.  However we are still looking for extra help in the other areas of our work.  For all animal care opportunities please do keep us in mind for the future.

Our guests need people, dogs need walking, cats need cuddling. You could help re-socialise nervous or terrified cats and dogs, or get a puppy or kitten used to people. We are looking for people to walk dogs during the week as well as at weekends, any time you can spare would be appreciated by staff and more importantly our guests.

Events
Perhaps you could organise an event, a coffee morning, a dance or perhaps a sponsored silence, walk, haircut, the list is endless ! From the very simple to the extravagant, every penny raised is most gratefully received! -
AND IT'S GREAT FUN TOO!!
Our RSPCA CHARITY SHOPS
A morning or afternoon helping in one of our shops a week would be a fantastic help.   There are so many different tasks that need doing from sorting to steaming, till work to helping customers.

Here at the Centre we like to get to know all our volunteers and are always looking at ways in which we can get to know everyone. This invloves organising social events, which we will list below....
